The Canton Township Park and Recreation Board is becoming the model for recreational programming in Washington County. The Board has initiated renovations and replacement of equipment at the Canton Township Recreation Hall using a recreation grant. They have installed signs at the ball fields as well as sponsored parties for the children of Canton Township. The Recreation Board has also sponsored trips, tours and activities.

This concept drawing shows proposed locations for the proposed park facilities. The text blocks show the number of votes Canton Residents gave to each facility type and the proposed phasing of the facility construction.
The next work items to be undertaken are:

Filing for design grant monies. This is being handled by the Park Design/Build Team.

Applying for permits - archaeological/historical clearance, environmental impact review/remediation plans, stormwater management plans, and erosion/sedimentation plans are required.

Securing the services of a design engineering firm.
